Description
A delightful and simple no-cook method to preserve the fresh flavors of summer raspberries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of fresh raspberries
- 2 cups of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of fruit pectin (like Sure-Jell)
- 1 cup of water
- Clean jars or containers with tight-fitting lids
Instructions
- Wash the fresh raspberries gently under cold water and allow them to drain and dry slightly.
- In a large bowl, use a potato masher or fork to crush the raspberries to a chunky texture.
- In a separate bowl, combine the granulated sugar and fruit pectin, stirring until well mixed.
- Add the sugar-pectin mixture to the mashed raspberries and stir thoroughly until the sugar dissolves, approximately 3-5 minutes.
- Allow the mixture to sit for 10-15 minutes to thicken, looking for a slightly gelled texture.
- Pour the mixture into clean jars or containers, leaving about 1/2 inch of space at the top. Seal tightly with lids and label with the date.
- Place the jars in the freezer for best quality, consume within a year.
Notes
You can customize the jam with other berries or flavor additions such as lemon juice or vanilla extract.
