Description
A colorful and educational craft that explores density through liquid layering, perfect for all ages.
Ingredients
- Clear glass or plastic jar (with a lid if desired)
- Various liquids (water, oil, syrup, etc.)
- Food coloring (in different colors)
- Funnel (optional)
- Measuring cups or spoons
- Spoon or stick for stirring
Instructions
- Prepare the Liquids: Gather a variety of liquids, like water, vegetable oil, and corn syrup. Mix food coloring into the water (one color per cup) and stir well.
- Layering the Liquids: Using a funnel, start with the densest liquid first (usually syrup). Pour gently to avoid mixing. Continue layering with the next densest liquid (colored water) poured slowly down the side of the jar, then oil and any additional colored liquids.
- Admire Your Creation: Observe the beautiful layers and optionally seal the jar with a lid if desired.
Notes
Customize colors using natural colorants and consider adding sparkle with glitter for a magical touch.
