Description

Ingredients

  • Pipe cleaners (assorted colors)
  • Epsom salt
  • Boiling water
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Small container or jar
  • Spoon
  • String (for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Shape your tree by twisting the pipe cleaners into a tree form using various colors.
  2. Cut off excess pipe cleaner to fit in the container.
  3. Boil enough water to fill your container halfway.
  4. Slowly add Epsom salt to the boiling water and stir until dissolved.
  5. Add food coloring if desired.
  6. Submerge your pipe cleaner tree in the solution completely.
  7. Place the container in a cool, undisturbed area for 24 hours or more.
  8. Check on the tree as crystals begin to form.
  9. After the time, carefully remove the tree and dry it on a paper towel.
  10. Display your vibrant crystal tree in a bright spot or hang it with string.
