Description

Create a vibrant and enchanting rainbow crystal tree that beautifully combines science and artistry, perfect for home decor or gifts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 tablespoons of Epsom salt
  • 1 tablespoon of food coloring (various colors)
  • A small tree branch or wire frame for the tree
  • A shallow bowl or dish
  • A heat source (like a stove) for boiling water
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Optional: Glitter for added sparkle

Instructions

  1. Boil 1 cup of water in a pot or kettle.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in 3 tablespoons of Epsom salt until dissolved.
  3. Divide the mixture into different bowls and stir in food coloring to create various shades.
  4. Dip the branch or frame into colored solution and soak for at least 15 minutes, then place upright in a bowl to dry.
  5. Pour the remaining solution into the bowl next to the tree, ensuring the bottom of the branch is submerged.
  6. Leave undisturbed for 24-48 hours to allow crystals to form.
  7. Optionally sprinkle glitter on the branches for a sparkling finish.

Notes

Experiment with different salts and colors to create unique designs. Consider using a clear sealant to preserve the finished crystal tree.
