Description

Create stunning rainbow crystal snowflakes that shimmer in the sunlight. Perfect for winter decorations and a fun project for all ages.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Borax
  • 3 cups Water
  • Pipe cleaners (various colors)
  • String
  • Jar or container (glass)
  • Pencil or stick
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Twist pipe cleaners into snowflake shapes. Get creative with colors.
  2. In a pot, bring water to a boil and stir in 1 cup of Borax until fully dissolved.
  3. If desired, add food coloring to the solution for vibrant crystals.
  4. Attach a string to each snowflake and lower them into the Borax solution, ensuring they’re fully submerged.
  5. Leave the jar undisturbed for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  6. Gently take out the snowflakes and rinse in cold water to remove excess Borax.
  7. Let them dry completely and display in windows or around the house.

Notes

You can experiment with different crystal types or make several sizes for dynamic display. Supervise younger children during crafting.
