Create stunning decorative Rainbow Crystal Geode Eggs through a fun and educational crafting experience.
Ingredients
- Large plastic egg halves (two)
- Epsom salt or Borax
- Boiling water
- Food coloring (various colors)
- Mixing bowl
- Spoon
- Wax paper or a tray
- Optional: glitter for added sparkle
Instructions
- Boil water in a kettle or pot.
- Combine 1 cup of Epsom salt (or Borax) with 2 cups of hot water in a mixing bowl. Stir until fully dissolved.
- Divide the solution into separate bowls, one for each color you’d like to use.
- Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and stir until you achieve your desired hue.
- Place wax paper or a tray on the surface to catch drips.
- Fill one half of the plastic egg with the colored solution until it’s nearly full.
- Close the egg carefully with the other half.
- Place the egg in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight.
- Allow the solution to sit undisturbed for at least 24 hours.
- Open the egg to reveal the formed crystals inside!
Notes
For best results, allow crystals to grow for 24-48 hours. Adult supervision is recommended due to boiling water.
