Description

A delightful and educational craft project that transforms simple materials into vibrant rainbow crystals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 3 tablespoons of Borax
  • Food coloring or liquid watercolors
  • A glass jar or clear container
  • String or pipe cleaner
  • Pencil or stick
  • Optional: glitter for extra sparkle

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Solution: Boil 1 cup of water and stir in 3 tablespoons of Borax until fully dissolved.
  2. Add Colors: Add a few drops of food coloring to the solution and swirl gently.
  3. Set Up Crystals: Tie one end of the string to the pencil, suspend it over the jar so the string hangs into the solution.
  4. Allow Crystallization: Leave the jar undisturbed in a cool place overnight for best results.
  5. Retrieve and Dry: Pull the string from the solution, letting excess liquid drip off, and place the crystals to dry.

Notes

Try different color combinations and shapes. Keep crystals in a dry place to prevent fading.
