Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Food coloring (red, yellow, blue, green, purple)
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Stir well.
  3. In a larger bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter into separate bowls for each color. Add food coloring to each bowl and mix until desired colors are achieved.
  7. In a greased pan, layer the colored batters to create a rainbow effect.
  8. Sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top (optional).
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before slicing into fun shapes.

Notes

Experiment with different extracts and use alternatives for food coloring for a unique twist.
