An engaging DIY project to explore weather phenomena and create a captivating display that mimics rain clouds.
Ingredients
- A clear glass jar (any size)
- Shaving cream (unscented)
- Food coloring (variety of colors)
- Water
- A spoon or dropper
- Optional: Small bowl for mixing colors
Instructions
- Fill your clear glass jar with water, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
- Carefully squirt a layer of shaving cream on top of the water. This will be your cloud.
- In a separate small bowl, mix food coloring with a little water if desired for a more diluted effect.
- Using a dropper, place drops of food coloring on top of the shaving cream “cloud”.
- Allow the colored water to seep through the shaving cream and fall into the jar below.
Notes
Experiment with different colors and jar sizes. Add glitter for a sparkling effect and use whipped cream for a winter cloud version.
