Description

A fun and interactive DIY recipe perfect for autumn celebrations, where a hollow pumpkin erupts with fizzy colors and flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium-sized pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • Food coloring (orange, yellow, or your choice)
  • Optional: corn syrup for added sweetness
  • Optional: glitter for a sparkly finish
  • Tray or large dish to contain the overflow

Instructions

  1. Choose a firm pumpkin with vibrant color.
  2. Carefully slice off the top of the pumpkin to create a lid.
  3. Scoop out the seeds and fibers from the inside.
  4. Pour the baking soda into the hollowed-out pumpkin.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix vinegar with a few drops of food coloring.
  6. Slowly pour the colored vinegar into the pumpkin to see the fizzing eruption!
  7. Watch the fizz bubble over the edges and enjoy! (Optional: drizzle corn syrup before adding vinegar or sprinkle glitter for a festive touch.)

Notes

Feel free to experiment with food coloring and add flavor extracts for enhanced fragrance.
