- Black construction paper
- Scissors
- Pencil or marker
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- Optional: Glitter or embellishments for added flair
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Lay out all materials on a clean, flat surface. Ensure your space is well-lit for better visibility.
- Create the Pumpkin Shape: Draw a pumpkin shape on the black construction paper with a pencil or marker, including a stem and leaves if desired.
- Cut Out the Pumpkin Shape: Carefully cut out the pumpkin shape using scissors.
- Prepare the Suncatcher: Cut two pieces of clear contact paper slightly larger than the pumpkin shape, peel one side, and lay it sticky-side up.
- Add Color with Tissue Paper: Tear or cut the orange tissue/cellophane into small pieces and fill the pumpkin shape on the sticky contact paper, leaving space for the stem.
- Complete the Design: Repeat the process with green tissue paper for the stem and leaves, and cover everything with the second piece of contact paper sticky-side down.
- Final Touches: Trim any excess contact paper around the edges and use string or ribbon to hang your suncatcher.
Notes
Supervise young children when using scissors. Consider using clear acrylic sheets for a more durable option.
