Description

Create a fun and gooey pumpkin pie-scented ghost mud for sensory play that delights both kids and adults.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Orange and brown food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and cream of tartar until well combined.
  2. In a saucepan, combine water, vegetable oil, and pumpkin pie spice. Stir until smooth.
  3. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring continuously.
  4. Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan, approximately 3-5 minutes.
  5. If desired, mix in a few drops of orange and brown food coloring to achieve a pumpkin-like hue.
  6. Transfer the dough to a countertop and let it cool for a few minutes until it’s safe to touch.
  7. Knead the dough until smooth. Store in an airtight container when not in use.
