- 2 tablespoons cream of tartar
- 2 cups water
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- Orange and brown food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and cream of tartar until well combined.
- In a saucepan, combine water, vegetable oil, and pumpkin pie spice. Stir until smooth.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring continuously.
- Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pan, approximately 3-5 minutes.
- If desired, mix in a few drops of orange and brown food coloring to achieve a pumpkin-like hue.
- Transfer the dough to a countertop and let it cool for a few minutes until it’s safe to touch.
- Knead the dough until smooth. Store in an airtight container when not in use.
