Description
Create enchanting pressed flower lanterns using delicate, dried flowers and glass jars. A perfect project for all skill levels, adding beauty and warmth to your home.
Ingredients
- Clear glass jars or lanterns
- Pressed flowers (e.g., daisies, violets, ferns)
- Mod Podge or clear-drying craft glue
- Paintbrush
- Tea light candles (LED recommended for safety)
- Twine or ribbons (optional)
- Waterproof sealant (optional)
Instructions
- Clean your jars thoroughly with soap and water, then dry them completely. If using lanterns, ensure they are free from dust.
- Gather your pressed flowers. If they are not already pressed, place fresh flowers between sheets of parchment paper in a heavy book for about a week.
- Use the paintbrush to apply a thin layer of Mod Podge on the exterior of the jar. Working quickly, place your pressed flowers onto the glue, arranging them as desired.
- Once you’ve positioned your flowers, coat the entire jar with another layer of Mod Podge. Allow it to dry according to the glue’s instructions.
- Place a tea light (preferably LED for safety) inside the jar. If using twine or ribbons, tie them around the jar for an added decorative touch.
- Optionally, spray your lantern with a waterproof sealant if it will be used outdoors.
Notes
Experiment with different flowers and colors. Ensure children are supervised when using glue and light sources.
