Description

Create stunning pressed flower bookmarks that blend creativity with nature, perfect for personal use or as thoughtful gifts.

Ingredients

  • Fresh flowers (wildflowers, petals, or leaves)
  • Heavy books or a flower press
  • Parchment paper or coffee filters
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue or clear-drying adhesive
  • Cardstock or thick paper for backing
  • Ribbon or twine (optional)
  • Clear contact paper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Flowers: Choose small flowers or leaves and trim stems to about an inch in length.
  2. Press the Flowers: Place flowers between parchment paper or coffee filters, insert into a heavy book, and press for 1-2 weeks.
  3. Create the Bookmark Base: Cut cardstock into 2 inches wide by 6 inches long rectangles.
  4. Arrange the Flowers: Carefully remove pressed flowers and arrange them on the cardstock.
  5. Glue the Flowers: Apply glue to the back of the flowers and press them onto the cardstock.
  6. Optional Lamination: Cover bookmarks with clear contact paper for durability.
  7. Finishing Touches: Punch a hole for ribbon or twine and trim excess paper edges.

Notes

Experiment with different flowers and colors for personalized designs. Add quotes with decorative markers before gluing.
