Description

Create unique and beautiful pressed flower bookmarks that capture the essence of nature while adding a personal touch to your reading experience.

Ingredients

  • Fresh flowers (e.g., daisies, violets, lavender)
  • Heavy books or a flower press
  • Parchment or tissue paper
  • Cardstock or sturdy paper (for the bookmark base)
  • Clear adhesive (glue or Mod Podge)
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon or string (optional for embellishment)

Instructions

  1. Collect flowers: Choose fresh, vibrant flowers and rinse them gently if dirty. Pat dry with a paper towel.
  2. Press flowers: Place flowers between sheets of parchment or tissue paper and stack them in a heavy book or flower press for 1-2 weeks. Check periodically.
  3. Create bookmark base: Cut cardstock into your desired bookmark shape, typically 2”x6”. Ensure edges are smooth.
  4. Adhere flowers: Once flowers are pressed, arrange them on the cardstock and apply a thin layer of clear adhesive to secure them.
  5. Finishing touches: Optionally add ribbon or string at the top and allow to dry completely before use.

Notes

Experiment with different flowers and designs to create unique bookmarks. Consider adding personal touches like quotes or seasonal themes.
