Description
Create a charming bird feeder using popsicle sticks that attracts local wildlife and adds whimsy to your outdoor space.
Ingredients
Scale
- 20–30 popsicle sticks
- Wood glue or a hot glue gun
- Twine or string (for hanging)
- Birdseed
- Scissors
- Optional: paint, markers, or decorations (e.g., stickers, glitter)
Instructions
- Lay out 6 popsicle sticks side by side; these will form the base of your feeder.
- Use wood glue to secure them together. Press down and let dry for about 10 minutes.
- Take 4 popsicle sticks to form each side of the feeder.
- Cut two of these sticks in half to create vertical supports.
- Glue the half sticks vertically to the corners of the base to form a frame.
- Use 4 more popsicle sticks to create a roof.
- Attach them at a slight angle for an appealing design. Secure with glue.
- Use the remaining popsicle sticks to create a tray inside.
- Place them horizontally across the base, spaced evenly to hold birdseed.
- Allow everything to dry completely, usually about 30-60 minutes.
- Tie twine around the top of the feeder for hanging.
- Carefully fill your feeder with birdseed and hang it in a suitable location.
Notes
Customize your feeder with paints or decorative elements. Ensure you place it in a safe spot for birds.
