A fun and engaging craft project for kids to create colorful octopuses using pompoms and pipe cleaners while learning about marine life.
Ingredients
- Colorful pompoms (medium and small sizes)
- Pipe cleaners (various colors)
- Googly eyes or craft eyes
- Glue (craft or hot glue)
- Scissors
- Optional: glitter, sequins, or other decorative items
Instructions
- Prepare the Pompoms: Choose two medium-sized pompoms for the body and 8 small ones for the tentacles.
- Cut Pipe Cleaners: Cut 4 pipe cleaners in half to create 8 tentacle pieces.
- Attach Tentacles: Bend each pipe cleaner into a U-shape and secure them to the bottom of the larger pompom with glue.
- Create the Head: Glue the second medium pompom on top to form the head.
- Add Eyes: Attach googly eyes to the top pompom using glue.
- Decorate (Optional): Glue on glitter or sequins for added flair.
Notes
Adult supervision is recommended, especially when using scissors or hot glue. Customize with different colors and materials for variations.
