Ingredients
Scale
- 1 empty plastic bottle (1-liter or 2-liter)
- Green acrylic paint (or any color you prefer)
- Paintbrush
- Scissors
- Googly eyes (optional)
- Craft glue or a hot glue gun
- Black marker or paint for detailing
- Additional decorative items (stickers, felt, etc.)
Instructions
- Clean the Bottle: Rinse out the plastic bottle to remove any residue.
- Remove the Label: Peel off the label and clean any adhesive left behind.
- Cut the Bottle: Carefully cut the bottle in half to create the turtle’s shell.
- Shape the Legs and Head: From the bottom half, cut small pieces for the legs—four are ideal. For the head, cut a smaller piece.
- Paint the Shell: Apply a coat of green acrylic paint to the outer side of the bottle cap and half. Allow it to dry thoroughly.
- Add Details: Use the black marker or paint to add features like a mouth and spots on the shell.
- Glue on Googly Eyes: Attach googly eyes to the head for a fun face.
- Attach Legs and Head: Use glue to attach the legs to the base and the head to the top.
- Additional Decorations: Get creative! Use stickers or felt to embellish your turtle as you like.
