Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pink food coloring
  • A glass jar or container
  • A spoon for stirring
  • A stove or microwave for heating water
  • String or a skewer (optional for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Heat the water until it’s steaming but not boiling.
  2. Dissolve the sugar by gradually adding it to the heated water.

  6. Let the jar sit undisturbed for several days to allow crystals to form.

Notes

Check back after 3-5 days to see the crystals forming. Experiment with different colors and materials for unique results.
