Description
A fun and easy craft project for kids to make cute paper plate ladybugs, perfect for spring.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 paper plates
- Red and black paint (or markers)
- Paintbrushes or sponges
- Black construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Googly eyes
- Optional: Brown paper for a cute ladybug habitat
Instructions
- Take the two paper plates. One will be your ladybug’s body, and the other will be the wings. Paint the bottom of the first plate red using a paintbrush or sponge. Let it dry completely.
- Use the second plate as a reference and cut it in half. You will use these pieces as wings. Paint the tops of the wing halves black. Allow them to dry as well.
- Once everything is dry, glue the black wings to the back of the red plate (the body) so they stand out. Cut small circles from the black construction paper and glue them onto the red plate to represent ladybug spots.
- Attach the googly eyes to the front of the plate to give your ladybug character. For a finishing touch, use scissors to cut a small antennae from the black construction paper and glue it to the top of the ladybug’s head.
- You can attach it to a sunny window or a bulletin board using tape to brighten any area.
Notes
Customization options include using glitter paints and varying sizes of plates for different ladybugs.
