Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Essential oils (optional, for scent)
  • Clear cups or jars
  • Stirring sticks or spoons
  • Tray to contain mess
  • Measuring cups

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by finding an open outdoor area and gathering all materials on a tray.
  2. In a clear cup, add 2 tablespoons of baking soda and a few drops of your chosen food coloring.
  3. In a separate container, measure out 1/2 cup of white vinegar, and add essential oils if desired.
  4. Slowly pour the vinegar mixture into the cup with the baking soda and stand back to watch the fizzing reaction.
  5. Experiment with different food coloring combinations and adjust the vinegar amount for varying fizz durations.
