Description

Delicious stuffed onions that can be filled with various ingredients such as meat, cheese, and vegetables, perfect for a cozy dinner or impressing guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Large Onions (yellow or sweet)
  • 1 cup Meat (cooked sausage or beef)
  • 1 cup Cheese (cheddar or mozzarella, grated)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • Seasonings (salt, pepper, and herbs to taste)
  • 1 cup Vegetables (spinach or mushrooms, chopped and sautéed)

Instructions

  1. Peel the onions and cut off the top. Boil gently until they soften slightly, being careful not to overboil.
  2. Scoop out the centers and mix with your choice of filling ingredients (meat, vegetables, and seasonings).
  3. Spoon the filling back into the onion shells and place them in a baking dish.
  4. Top with breadcrumbs and cheese if desired, then bake until golden and bubbly.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the stuffed onions sit in the fridge overnight before baking. They taste even better the next day.
