Description

A fun and engaging project that combines learning and play, allowing children to explore the ocean’s beauty through a sensory experience.

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic bottle with a secure lid
  • Blue water (water mixed with blue food coloring)
  • Glitter or sequins
  • Small ocean-themed items (e.g., plastic fish, seashells)
  • Oil (baby oil or vegetable oil)
  • Funnel (optional)
  • Scissors (if needed for cutting items)

Instructions

  1. Clean the bottle and ensure it is dry.
  2. Use a funnel to fill the bottle about halfway with blue-colored water.
  3. Sprinkle in desired amount of glitter or sequins.
  4. Add small ocean-themed items such as plastic fish or seashells into the bottle.
  5. Carefully pour oil into the bottle until it’s nearly full, leaving about an inch of space at the top.
  6. Screw the lid on tightly to prevent spills.
  7. Gently shake the bottle to mix the water, oil, and decorations.
  8. Observe the mesmerizing movement of the elements within the bottle as they settle.

Notes

Experiment with different colors or small natural items like sand for a more realistic ocean effect. Use glow-in-the-dark elements for nighttime play.
