Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of water
- 3 cups of Epsom salt (or table salt)
- Food coloring (blue, green, or any ocean-inspired color)
- A heatproof glass jar or container
- A spoon for stirring
- A pot for boiling water
- A small tray to catch any spills
Instructions
- Heat 1 cup of water in a pot until it reaches a boil. Carefully pour it into your heatproof jar.
- Gradually stir in 3 cups of Epsom salt until it dissolves completely.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to create your ocean effect. Stir gently to mix.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly before setting it aside.
- Place the jar in a stable location and cover it loosely with plastic wrap or a paper towel.
- Over the next few days, observe the formation of crystals within the jar.
Notes
Experiment with different food coloring, and try different types of salt for varying results. You can add small shells or decorative pebbles for extra charm.
