Description
A fun and colorful crafting activity where kids create stunning ocean animal-themed suncatchers using simple materials.
Ingredients
- Clear plastic sheet or transparency paper
- Colored tissue paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick or liquid glue
- Black marker (optional for outlines)
- String or fishing line (for hanging)
- Hole puncher
Instructions
- Prepare Your Workspace: Set up a clean work area with all your materials easily accessible.
- Choose Your Ocean Animal: Decide on the ocean animal you’d like to create (fish, jellyfish, starfish, etc.).
- Cut the Base: Using scissors, cut the clear plastic sheet into your desired shape—consider a circular, oval, or animal silhouette.
- Create Tissue Paper Shapes: Tear or cut colored tissue paper into smaller pieces or shapes that represent your chosen ocean animal. Experiment with colors: blues for water, vibrant hues for the animal itself.
- Assemble Your Suncatcher: Using your glue stick, layer the tissue paper onto the clear plastic base. Overlap the pieces to create interesting patterns.
- Outline (Optional): Once the glue has dried, use a black marker to draw outlines around your ocean animal if desired.
- Punch Holes: Carefully punch a hole at the top of your suncatcher to attach the string.
- Hang & Enjoy: Thread the string through the hole and hang it near a window to catch the sunlight!
