Description

Create visually stunning and delicious Northern Lights Glow Candy with a satisfying crunch, perfect for parties and gifts.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tsp food coloring (multiple colors)
  • 1 tsp flavored extract (such as vanilla, cherry, or mint)
  • Candy thermometer
  • Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Cooking spray
  • Plastic spoon or spatula

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace by ensuring it’s clean and organized. Pre-measure all ingredients.
  2. In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and water, stirring over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Attach a candy thermometer and allow the mixture to boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat, split the mixture into bowls, and add food coloring and flavored extract, stirring until incorporated.
  5. Quickly pour the mixtures onto the prepared baking sheet in random swirls and allow to cool until hardened.
  6. Once hardened, break the candy into pieces for serving and store in an airtight container.

Notes
