Craft adorable no-sew sock worms using old socks, encouraging creativity and fine motor skills for all ages.

Ingredients

  • Clean, old socks (preferably colorful)
  • Scissors
  • Uncooked rice or polyfill (for stuffing)
  • Rubber bands or string (for securing)
  • Googly eyes (optional for decoration)
  • Fabric markers or felt (optional for additional features)

Instructions

  1. Choose your sock and turn it inside out.
  2. Pour a small handful of uncooked rice or polyfill into the toe of the sock.
  3. Gather the sock to form the head of the worm and secure with a rubber band or string.
  4. Continue filling the sock with rice or polyfill, stopping when it’s about halfway full and secure the body.
  5. Leave space at the end for the tail; tie off with another rubber band.
  6. Turn the sock outside in, use fabric markers to add patterns or a face, and attach googly eyes.

Notes

Customize colors and patterns; this is a great way to repurpose old socks.
