Description

Create your own moon sand for sensory play. This moldable substance is easy to make and safe for children and adults, providing hours of creative fun.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (or baby oil)
  • Optional: food coloring
  • Optional: scents (vanilla extract, essential oils)
  • Optional: glitter

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add the 8 cups of flour and slowly pour in the 1 cup of oil, mixing until well combined.
  2. Adjust the texture by adding more oil if the mixture is too dry, one tablespoon at a time.
  3. If desired, divide the mixture and add food coloring a few drops at a time until the color is uniform.
  4. Add 1-2 teaspoons of your chosen scent and mix thoroughly.
  5. Sprinkle glitter into the moon sand and mix until evenly distributed.
  6. Store your moon sand in an airtight container.
