Description

An exciting and visually stunning experiment that simulates a volcanic eruption using simple kitchen ingredients, perfect for all ages.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 clean glass jar or bottle
  • 2 tablespoons baking soda
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • Food coloring (any color)
  • Washable paint (optional)
  • Plastic funnel (optional)
  • Tray or large dish

Instructions

  1. Place your glass jar in the center of a tray or large dish to catch overflow.
  2. Pour 2 tablespoons of baking soda into the jar.
  3. If using food coloring, add several drops into the jar with the baking soda.
  4. Using a funnel, slowly pour 1 cup of vinegar into the jar over the baking soda.
  5. Stand back and enjoy the explosive reaction as bubbles rise and overflow!

Notes

Experiment with different colors and add a teaspoon of dish soap for thicker bubbles. You can also add essential oils for a pleasant aroma!
