Description

Delightful cake pops designed to resemble monstrous eyeballs, perfect for Halloween or any themed gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of cake mix (plus ingredients needed for baking)
  • 1 cup frosting (any flavor)
  • White chocolate or candy melts (for coating)
  • Food coloring (green or red for eyeballs)
  • Candy eyes (variety of sizes)
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Styrofoam block or cake pop stand (for drying)
  • Optional: Edible glitter or sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions.
  2. Prepare the cake batter, bake in accordance with the package directions, and let it cool completely.
  3. Once cooled, crumble the cake into fine pieces in a large bowl. Add the frosting gradually, mixing until you achieve a moldable consistency.
  4. Take a small amount of the cake mixture and roll it into a ball about the size of a ping-pong ball. Place the rolled cake balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Melt a small amount of the chocolate or candy melts and dip each lollipop stick into the melted chocolate. Insert the stick into the center of each cake ball, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Melt the remaining chocolate or candy melts in a microwave or double boiler. Dip each cake pop in the melted chocolate, ensuring they’re fully coated. Before the coating sets, add candy eyes for the finishing touch.
  7. Secure the cake pops in a styrofoam block to let them stand upright while the chocolate hardens. If desired, add additional decorations like edible glitter or sprinkles.

Notes

Store cake pops in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. Use pretzel sticks or pipe cleaners instead of lollipop sticks if needed.
