Description

An exciting DIY science experiment that mimics a volcanic eruption, engaging kids in learning about chemical reactions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup Baking soda
  • 1 cup Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Dish soap
  • Optional: Food coloring
  • Container or small cup (for the volcano)
  • Tray or baking sheet (to catch overflow)
  • Optional: Modeling clay or playdough to shape your volcano

Instructions

  1. Create Your Base: Shape modeling clay or playdough around your container to resemble a volcano, ensuring the opening is at the top.
  2. Position: Place the volcano in the center of the tray or baking sheet.
  3. Pour baking soda into the container at the top of your volcano.
  4. Add a teaspoon of dish soap to the baking soda.
  5. Add a few drops of food coloring if desired.
  6. Slowly pour the vinegar into the container.
  7. Stand back and observe the eruption!

Notes

Customize colors or add small toys for added fun. Experiment outdoors for easier cleanup.
