Ingredients

  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Food coloring (various colors)
  • Baking tray or shallow dish
  • Mini cups or containers
  • Water
  • Spoon
  • Oven (optional for faster drying)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of water to form a thick paste.
  2. Pour the paste into the baking tray to create an even layer.
  3. Separate small amounts of the baking soda paste into mini cups.
  4. Add several drops of different food coloring to each cup and mix well.
  5. Carefully spoon overlapping colors onto the base in the baking tray, creating a rainbow pattern.
  6. Slowly pour white vinegar over the colored baking soda and observe the fizzing reaction.
  7. Optionally, place the tray in the oven set to low heat (around 200°F) for 30 minutes to an hour to dry.
