Description

Transform broken crayons into vibrant leaf-shaped ornaments, ideal for recycling materials while unleashing your artistic side.

Ingredients

  • Assorted broken crayons (in fall colors)
  • Silicone leaf mold
  • Oven or hot plate (for melting)
  • Baking sheet (if using an oven)
  • Wax paper (for cooling)
  • Optional: glitter or small embellishments

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C).
  2. Remove wrappers from broken crayons and chop them into small pieces (about 1-inch long).
  3. Arrange crayon pieces in the silicone leaf molds, mixing colors for a marbled effect or using single colors.
  4. For the oven method, place the molds on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes. For the hot plate method, carefully place the filled molds on the hot plate until melted.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool. For faster cooling, place molds in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Gently flex the silicone mold to release the ornaments.
  7. If desired, sprinkle glitter or attach ribbons to hang.

Notes

Experiment with various crayon shades for unique effects. Consider alternative molds for different shapes.
