Description

Ingredients

  • Clear plastic or silicone suncatcher molds
  • Assorted plastic beads (perler beads work well)
  • Oven or toaster oven
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Oven mitts
  • Cool water or ice bath (optional for quick cooling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (204°C) and allow it to fully heat.
  2. Prepare Your Molds: Place parchment paper or aluminum foil on a baking sheet for easy cleanup. Position your suncatcher molds on the sheet.
  3. Fill the Molds: Arrange your beads in the molds. Use a mix of colors and patterns to create unique designs. Keep in mind that beads will melt and spread, so don’t overcrowd them.
  4. Bake the Molds: Carefully insert the baking sheet into the preheated oven. Bake for about 15-20 minutes. Watch them closely; the beads should melt but not bubble over.
  5. Cool the Suncatchers: When melted, remove the molds from the oven using oven mitts. Allow the molds to cool at room temperature or place them in a cool water bath for faster cooling.
  6. Remove the Suncatchers: Gently pop the suncatchers out of the molds once cooled. They should come out easily.
