Create beautiful melted bead suncatchers that bring color and light to your home with this fun DIY project.

Ingredients

  • Plastic beads (Pony beads work best)
  • Metal cookie cutters or silicone molds
  • Baking tray or parchment paper
  • Oven
  • Cooking spray (optional, for easy removal)
  • Wire or string (for hanging)

Instructions

  1. Choose Your Shapes: Select your cookie cutters or molds. Popular shapes include hearts, stars, and flowers.
  2. Arrange Beads: Fill the molds with beads, ensuring no gaps remain.
  3. Prepare the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Line the Tray: Place the molds on a baking tray covered with parchment paper.
  5. Bake: Put the tray in the oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes. Watch closely as the beads melt.
  6. Cool Down: Carefully remove the tray from the oven and let it cool completely.
  7. Remove from Molds: Gently pop your suncatchers out. Run a knife around the edges if necessary.
  8. Add Hanging Mechanism: Puncture a small hole in the top and thread wire or string through.

Notes

Experiment with different color combinations and shapes for unique designs. Consider adding glitter for extra sparkle.
