Description
Create vibrant melted bead suncatchers that brighten any space and recycle old beads into beautiful decorations.
Ingredients
- Plastic beads (perler beads or pony beads)
- Metal cookie cutters (various shapes)
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper or aluminum foil
- Oven
- Oven mitts
- Hanging string or ribbon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Select cookie cutters and place them on the baking sheet.
- Fill each cookie cutter with plastic beads, packing them tightly for even melting.
- Carefully place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes until beads are fully melted but not bubbling.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven using oven mitts and allow to cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Gently remove suncatchers from the cookie cutters and thread a string or ribbon through a hole if desired.
Notes
Experiment with different color combinations and shapes for unique designs. Consider using UV-resistant beads for outdoor use.
