Description

Create a mesmerizing snowstorm in a jar with this easy and fun DIY project that combines creativity and science.

Ingredients

  • A clean, clear glass jar (with a lid)
  • Water
  • White school glue
  • Glitter (white, silver, or iridescent)
  • Baby oil (or light mineral oil)
  • Optional: small figurines (like snowmen or trees)
  • Optional: food coloring

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Jar: Clean and dry your glass jar thoroughly. Decide if you want to add any figurines to the bottom.
  2. Add Glue: Pour about 1-2 tablespoons of white school glue into the jar.
  3. Add Water: Fill the jar about halfway with water and stir gently to mix the glue and water.
  4. Add Glitter: Sprinkle in your glitter (1-2 tablespoons is ideal).
  5. Add Baby Oil: Pour in baby oil to fill the jar nearly to the top, leaving a little space.
  6. Optional Coloring: If desired, add a drop or two of food coloring to tint your snowstorm and stir gently.
  7. Seal the Jar: Screw the lid on tightly. Optionally, add glue around the lid before sealing.
  8. Shake and Enjoy: Turn the jar upside down and shake gently to see your snowstorm in action!

Notes

Consider swapping baby oil with glycerin for a thicker snowfall effect. Customize your snowstorm by using different colors and themes.
