Create beautiful, colorful suncatchers using broken crayons, perfect for a fun family craft project.
Ingredients
- Broken green crayons (or any preferred colors)
- Baking paper (parchment paper)
- Cookie sheet
- Oven
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Ribbon or string for hanging
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
- Remove wrappers from the broken crayons and break them into smaller pieces, about half an inch long.
- Lay a sheet of baking paper on a cookie sheet and arrange the crayon pieces on the paper.
- Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and melt the crayons for about 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
- Peel the wax off the baking paper to reveal your suncatcher.
- Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top of your suncatcher.
- Thread a ribbon or string through the hole and hang your suncatcher in a window.
Notes
Experiment with mixing colors and using cookie cutters for shapes. You can also use silicone molds for unique designs.
