Create beautiful, colorful suncatchers using broken crayons, perfect for a fun family craft project.

Ingredients

  • Broken green crayons (or any preferred colors)
  • Baking paper (parchment paper)
  • Cookie sheet
  • Oven
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon or string for hanging

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
  2. Remove wrappers from the broken crayons and break them into smaller pieces, about half an inch long.
  3. Lay a sheet of baking paper on a cookie sheet and arrange the crayon pieces on the paper.
  4. Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and melt the crayons for about 10-15 minutes.
  5. Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  6. Peel the wax off the baking paper to reveal your suncatcher.
  7. Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top of your suncatcher.
  8. Thread a ribbon or string through the hole and hang your suncatcher in a window.

Notes

Experiment with mixing colors and using cookie cutters for shapes. You can also use silicone molds for unique designs.
