Description

Create your own delightful baking soda crystal snowman in a fun, educational winter craft activity.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of baking soda
  • ½ cup of white vinegar
  • 1 cup of water
  • Different food coloring (optional)
  • Pipe cleaners (for accessories)
  • Googly eyes or small beads (for eyes)
  • A bowl (for mixing)
  • Baking tray (for drying)
  • Wax paper or parchment paper (to place snowmen)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with ½ cup of white vinegar and watch the fizzing action.
  2. Add enough water to the mixture to form a moldable paste.
  3. Shape three snowman forms: a small ball for the head, a medium ball for the body, and the largest for the base.
  4. Color your snowman with food coloring or leave it white, then place on a baking tray lined with wax paper.
  5. Allow the snowman shapes to dry for 24 hours, preferably 48 for optimal crystal formation.
  6. Decorate with pipe cleaners for scarves and add googly eyes for personality!

Notes

Experiment with different colors and sizes for unique snowman designs. Add glitter for added sparkle before drying.
