Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1 cup white glue (PVA glue)
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • Optional: green food coloring
  • Decorations (glitter, star, ornaments, etc.)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of baking soda and 1 cup of white glue. Stir until smooth, forming a thick paste.
  2. (Optional) Add a few drops of green food coloring and blend well.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to the mixture and watch for fizzing. Quickly mix in 1 tablespoon of corn starch until doughy.
  4. Mold the mixture into a tree shape on a tray or baking sheet, sculpting branches and a trunk.
  5. Allow the trees to dry for at least 24 hours for sturdiness.
  6. Once dry, decorate your tree with paint or additional decorations.

Notes

Experiment with different colors and sizes, and use various decorations for creativity. If corn starch is unavailable, flour can be substituted.
