Description

A fun and imaginative craft to create glow-in-the-dark frozen snowflakes at home, perfect for winter decorations.

Ingredients

  • White glue (PVA or school glue)
  • Borax (found in laundry aisle)
  • Warm water
  • String or thin thread
  • Craft sticks or pipe cleaners (for snowflake shapes)
  • Glow-in-the-dark paint or powder (optional)
  • Bowl or container (for soaking)
  • Baking sheet (for drying)
  • Optional: Glitter for extra sparkle

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of Borax with 1 cup of warm water and stir until dissolved.
  2. Use pipe cleaners or craft sticks to shape your snowflake and secure by twisting together.
  3. Generously apply white glue to your snowflake shape.
  4. If desired, apply glow-in-the-dark paint or powder before dipping into the Borax solution.
  5. Soak the snowflake in the Borax solution for 6-12 hours.
  6. Remove from the solution and place on a baking sheet to dry for several hours.
  7. Once dried, hang your snowflake with string or thread to enjoy its glow.

Notes

For a thicker coating of crystals, repeat soaking after drying. Experiment with colors and shapes for added creativity.
