- 2 Paper plates
- Brown, black, or white construction paper
- Markers or crayons
- Googly eyes (optional)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or craft glue
- Yarn (for the mane)
- Hole punch (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Plates: Position one paper plate flat for the horse’s body, and cut the second plate to create the head.
- Create the Horse’s Head: Cut the second plate into a horse head shape, removing the bottom portion.
- Attach the Head: Glue the head onto the body plate securely.
- Add Features: Glue ears made from construction paper on top of the head; add eyes using googly eyes or markers.
- Create the Mane and Tail: Cut yarn strands for the mane and tail, gluing them to the head and back of the body.
- Decoration: Let kids color and decorate the horse’s body with markers or crayons, adding spots or stripes for fun!

Customize colors and consider using tissue paper for a fluffy mane. Pair with a story about farm life for an educational twist.
