Ingredients
- Empty plastic bottle (clear)
- Vegetable oil
- Water
- Food coloring (your choice of colors)
- Alka-Seltzer tablets (or similar effervescent tablets)
- Glitter (optional)
- Clear tape
- Scissors
- Light source (sunny window or lamp)
Instructions
- Clean the Bottle: Ensure your plastic bottle is clean and dry.
- Pour vegetable oil into the bottle, filling it about two-thirds full.
- Add water until the bottle is almost full, leaving some space at the top.
- Add several drops of food coloring and watch it sink through the oil.
- For extra sparkle, add glitter to the mixture.
- Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into pieces.
- Drop small pieces into the mixture one at a time; watch the colorful bubbles rise and fall.
- Seal the cap of the bottle with clear tape if desired.
- Place your suncatcher by a sunny window or under a lamp.
Notes
Experiment with different food coloring combinations and bottle shapes for unique results. Glitter is optional but adds a magical effect.
