Ingredients

  • Clear plastic bottle or jar
  • Water
  • Cooking oil (vegetable or mineral oil)
  • Food coloring
  • Alka-Seltzer tablets or baking soda

Instructions

  1. Clean your bottle or jar thoroughly to ensure clarity.
  2. Fill half the jar with water, leaving enough space to add oil.
  3. Slowly pour cooking oil into the jar with water, watching the oil create beautiful bubbles and layers.
  4. Drop in a few drops of food coloring and allow it to mix with the water for vibrant swirls.
  5. Sprinkle in glitter or sequins for extra sparkle, if desired.
  6. Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into pieces and drop a piece into the jar to activate bubbling movement.
  7. Seal your jar with a lid or plastic wrap to prevent spills.
  8. Attach string or wire to hang your suncatcher in a sunny spot.

Notes

Try different colors and shapes for unique designs. Optional glow-in-the-dark paint can be added for nighttime effects.
