Description

Create a mesmerizing lava lamp effect using everyday materials. Perfect for parties or educational fun!


Ingredients

  • Clear bottle or jar with a lid
  • Water
  • Vegetable oil
  • Food coloring
  • Alka-Seltzer tablets or baking soda
  • Funnel (optional)
  • Glitter or small beads (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start with a clear, clean bottle or jar. Using a funnel, fill it about 1/4 full with water.
  2. Slowly pour vegetable oil into the bottle, filling it almost to the top (leaving some space).
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring and watch it sink through the oil.
  4. Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into smaller pieces and drop one into the bottle to activate the lava lamp effect.
