Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of sand (play sand or beach sand)
- 1 cup of cornstarch
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of dish soap (non-toxic)
- Optional: food coloring or essential oils for scent
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of sand with 1 cup of cornstarch. Stir until fully combined for an even texture.
- Slowly add 1 cup of dish soap to the dry mix. Gradually pour in 1 cup of water, mixing well to avoid clumps.
- Use your hands to knead the mixture until it has a doughy consistency. If it feels too dry, add a splash of water gradually.
- For colored sand, incorporate a few drops of food coloring until the desired shade is achieved. For a scented sand, mix in a few drops of essential oil during kneading.
- Once finished, store your waterproof sand in an airtight container to maintain its freshness.
Notes
Supervise young children during playtime with the sand. Store in an airtight container to keep the texture.
