Description

Colorful ice cubes perfect for adding a festive touch to drinks and desserts for Independence Day celebrations.


Ingredients

  • Clear ice cube tray
  • Red food coloring
  • Blue food coloring
  • Water
  • Small blueberries (optional)
  • Raspberries or sliced strawberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Gather your supplies and plan your layering of colors in the ice cube tray.
  2. Mix a few drops of red food coloring with water in one bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix blue food coloring with water.
  4. If using fruits, place blueberries or raspberry slices at the bottom of the ice cube tray.
  5. Pour the blue water mixture into one half of the ice cube tray, filling each section halfway.
  6. Freeze for about 1 hour or until partially frozen.
  7. Pour the red water mixture over the partially frozen blue layer to fill the remaining space.
  8. Return the tray to the freezer and freeze completely for about 3–4 hours.
  9. Once frozen, remove the ice cubes from the tray by running warm water over the bottom if needed.
  10. Add colorful ice cubes to your favorite drinks and enjoy!

Notes

These ice cubes can be made in advance and stored in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3–4 weeks.
