Description

An engaging and colorful craft project bringing jellyfish to life through salt painting, perfect for all ages.


Ingredients

  • Cardstock or watercolor paper
  • White school glue
  • Table salt
  • Watercolor paints or liquid food coloring
  • Paintbrushes
  • A shallow dish or tray (optional for salt)
  • A small bowl of water
  • A pencil

Instructions

  1. Set up a clean workspace with a protective covering.
  2. Lightly sketch a jellyfish with a pencil on the cardstock.
  3. Trace over the pencil drawing with white school glue.
  4. Sprinkle salt over the wet glue drawing, then shake off excess salt and let dry for about 30 minutes.
  5. Using a paintbrush, dip into watercolor paint or food coloring and touch it to the salt to spread color.
  6. Experiment with different colors for the jellyfish and background.
  7. Allow the painting to dry completely for several hours, then shake off any excess salt.

Notes

Experiment with glow-in-the-dark paint for added fun or substitute salt with sand for different texture effects.
