Description
Create beautiful ice luminaries that add a magical glow to your winter gatherings.
Ingredients
- Clean plastic containers (e.g., milk jugs or bowls)
- Water
- Natural elements (e.g., leaves, berries, or flowers)
- Candle or LED tea light
- Food coloring (optional)
- String or twine (for hanging, if desired)
Instructions
- Choose your plastic containers; mix and match sizes for varying effects. Rinse and clean them to ensure clarity when frozen.
- Fill the containers with water, leaving some space at the top. Add your chosen natural elements to the water. Optionally, add a few drops of food coloring for a colorful twist.
- Place your containers in the freezer. For best results, freeze overnight. Use smaller containers to prop them in the water if you want to create a hollow center for a candle.
- Once frozen solid, remove the containers from the freezer. Allow them to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before gently removing the plastic to avoid breakage.
- Carefully place a candle or LED tea light inside the hollowed-out ice and enjoy the glowing effect!
Notes
Experiment with different container shapes and themes to make your luminaries unique.
