Ingredients

- 1 cup Borax
- 2 cups Water
- Clean glass jar or bowl
- Pipe cleaners (any colors)
- String or fishing line (optional, for hanging)
- Food coloring (optional, to customize color)
- A stirring stick
- Small pot (for boiling)
Instructions
- Shape the pipe cleaners into desired forms (stars, icicles, etc.), twisting them tightly to keep their shape.
- In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then pour it into your glass jar or bowl.
- Add 1 cup of Borax to the hot water, stirring continuously until fully dissolved.
- If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture and stir gently.
- Attach a string to the shaped pipe cleaners and submerge them in the Borax solution, ensuring they don’t touch the sides.
- Let the jar sit undisturbed for 6-12 hours for the crystals to form.
- Carefully remove the ornaments from the solution and let them dry on a paper towel.
